This comes just hours after reports suggested talks between Barcelona and the player’s agent had hit a snag, causing concern among the club’s leaders.

These reports claimed that negotiations had stalled because of unexpected demands from Nico’s agent, leading to frustration at the Spotify Camp Nou offices.

It is to be noted that last week, both sides had reached a verbal agreement for a six-year contract with agreed salary terms. However, problems started when the verbal agreement was put into writing.

The high demands from Nico’s representative took Barcelona by surprise, slowing progress. Despite this, Romero’s latest information points to confidence from Nico’s entourage, who know the player wants to join Barcelona and believe things will move forward soon.

According to Juli Claramunt, Barcelona are moving fast to finalise everything needed to secure Nico Williams.

According to him, the documents are already prepared, meaning the club is ready to complete the transfer as soon as an agreement with the player’s camp is reached.

Meanwhile, it is also said that Hansi Flick has been proactive in planning how to integrate Nico into his team.

Flick has already spoken directly with the Athletic Club winger, explaining how he sees him fitting into his tactics both when Raphinha is in the line-up and when he is not.
