Nicolo Rovella 'to return' for Juventus trip after calf injury | OneFootball

Nicolo Rovella is working towards a return next month after a calf problem. Head coach Gennaro Gattuso will be without the Lazio midfielder in the meantime.

Il Messaggero reports that, after a month out, an MRI on Friday showed reduced swelling, a largely positive update, yet he is not ready to feature immediately.

The 24-year-old missed most of last season with two serious injuries, then picked up a knock on matchday two against his original club, Genoa.

He will sit out the international break friendlies against Arezzo and Juve Stabia, and is not expected to face Monza on 11 October. The target is a return on 18 October in Turin against former club Juventus.

Rovella made only three competitive appearances for the Bianconeri before joining Lazio in summer 2023 on a two-year loan. A permanent move in 2025 is anticipated due to an obligation to buy.
