Nigeria: Eric Chelle confirms rumors about his salary demands to the NFF
The Super Eagles head coach, Éric Chelle, has confirmed the rumors surrounding his contract extension demands with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). In an interview, the coach acknowledged the authenticity of the leaked documents, while expressing his astonishment at their public release.
Éric Chelle has confirmed the reports about his requirements for extending his contract as manager of Nigeria’s Super Eagles. However, he is surprised that these documents have been made public. “Honestly, what surprises me most is how this document ended up in the media. That’s the main question I’m asking myself,” Chelle said. The documents reveal he requested a monthly salary of $130,000, along with 19 specific conditions for his extension.
The reasons behind his demands
The coach insists that these requests were aimed at securing optimal working conditions with the national team. According to him, they are meant to ensure effective professional management, flawless logistics, and optimal preparation of the Super Eagles for upcoming international tournaments.
While some of his demands may seem ambitious, Chelle emphasizes the importance of a constructive dialogue with the NFF.
