Nigeria vs DRC: Gernot Rohr predicts victory for the Super Eagles

Benin head coach Gernot Rohr believes Nigeria will come out on top against DR Congo this Sunday in Rabat in the decisive 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Speaking to Soccernet, the former Nigeria manager said he expects the Super Eagles to defeat the Leopards. However, he warned that the Congolese side pose a real threat, especially from set pieces and with their physical strength:

Nigeria are the favorites, but they must remain vigilant. Congo are physically strong and dangerous on set pieces.

While Benin’s Cheetahs are currently in Rabat for a friendly against Burkina Faso on Tuesday, Gernot Rohr will take the opportunity to closely watch the Nigeria-DRC clash. That’s because Benin will face the DR Congo Leopards at the AFCON in December. Nigeria may be the favorites, but Congo are fully capable of springing a surprise.
