Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has confirmed that key player Marc Cucurella is set for a scan after coming off injured last night.

The Blues threw away a comfortable 2-0 lead against Leeds United in their latest Premier League match last night, to end up drawing the game 2-2 and also throwing away two vital points in the race for Champions League qualification.

After Joao Pedro opened the scoring, which was soon added to by a Cole Palmer penalty, Rosenior and Chelsea were in dreamland cruising the game. They played some superb football in that first half.

Pedro was fantastic leading the line again, and he earned some rightful praise from his manager after the game in his post-match interview.

Away from the analysis, Cucurella came off at half time and was replaced with Jorrel Hato.

What happened to Cucurella?

In words cited on X after the game, The Blues boss said Cucurella “felt his hamstring” and had to come off at half-time!

Rosenior says the Spanish full back will have a scan to see if he’s available for the next game.

Obviously we will now be eagerly awaiting the results of this scan because Cucurella is a big player for this team and one of the more experienced players we have, so he has become a vital cog in the Chelsea machine.

He didn’t appear injured

The positive thing here is that Cucurella didn’t go down, or look in any pain, and he walked off normally at half time. So this should hopefully suggest that the injury was not anything too bad or will be too serious.
