No Champions League reunion with RC Lens for Ange N'Guessan | OneFootball

Ange N'Guessan will miss Slavia Prague’s Champions League tie with RC Lens on Thursday at 18:45 due to a right calf injury.

According to L'Équipe, the 23-year-old Franco-Ivorian defender will not feature, denying him a reunion with the club where he came through the academy.

N'Guessan spent 2016 to 2021 at Lens’ La Gaillette academy then opted to sign his first professional contract with Torino in January 2022.

He later broke through in Eastern Europe, first with NK Bravo in Slovenia and then with Slovan Liberec in the Czech Republic. Slavia bought him this summer for €6m.

He said he was very disappointed to miss the game and had been keen to face Lens. He added that he does not regret choosing an overseas path and retains only good memories of the club.
