‘No Opening For Tottenham’ – Spurs Yet To Signal Exit For Wanted Player | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur have not yet opened up to letting Destiny Udogie depart N17, despite interest from Italian giants Roma.

The Italy international was signed by Tottenham for a fee in the region of £15m back in 2022, but spent another year on loan at Udinese before heading to N17 the following summer.

Udogie was lauded initially as a smart piece of business on Tottenham’s part, however there are major question marks over the amount of playing time he will have this season.

Andrew Robertson arriving in N17 has done little to quell the worries that the defender may not receive regular minutes, along with the fact that Roberto De Zerbi does not want Souza to leave.

Roma have noted the situation and have spoken to Udogie’s entourage.

The Giallorossi would likely need to move on Daniele Ghilardi or Jan Ziolkowski to push for Udogie.

They would though favour signing the left-back on loan from Tottenham with an option to buy.

However, at the moment there is ‘no opening from Tottenham’ to an Udogie exit, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

Any possible move for the player has already been anticipated to be tough by former Nottingham Forest sporting director Filipo Giraldi due to the higher fees commanded by players playing in England.

It remains to be seen if Udogie might push to leave north London if he is concerned about a lack of game time this term.

All eyes will be on how De Zerbi sets his Tottenham team up for their Premier League opener, with expectations high in north London on the back of a spending spree.

They could also sanction a host of further departures, with Guglielmo Vicario still linked with a move away, while Djed Spence remains on Inter Milan’s radar.
