Arsenal-linked defender Noahkai Banks says he does not expect to leave FC Augsburg this summer after speculation over his future.

“My plan is to stay at FC Augsburg,” Banks told Bild. “The focus is now fully on pre-season preparations and the upcoming season.” Bild also reports there have been no negotiations between Arsenal and Augsburg to date.

“I want to establish myself as a regular starter, get as many minutes on the pitch as possible and have a successful season with the team,” he added.

Reports in May suggested Arsenal had scouted the 19-year-old.

Augsburg have high hopes for the centre-back, who is under contract until 2029. “He has big, big potential,” Augsburg sporting director Benjamin Weber told Bulinews.com earlier this summer. “He’s really strong physically and a very, very good player. He has all the skills you need to become one of the best centre-backs. It’s good that he’s with us at the moment because we’ve followed him and prepared him for the next steps.”
