Nordi Mukiele sends Instagram message to Sunderland fans after Nottingham Forest incident

Nordi Mukiele has addressed Sunderland supporters on Instagram after a half-time flashpoint during the 5-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Sunderland were 4-0 down at the interval after a damaging first half. Sunderland Echo reports that as the players headed for the tunnel, Mukiele appeared to react to comments from the stands amid a tense atmosphere.

Despite boos at the break, large sections of the crowd continued to back the team in the second half.

In his post, Mukiele described it as a difficult night, saying football brings ups and downs. He urged the team to stand up, approach the next match with a different mindset and keep believing.

He noted there are four fixtures remaining and told fans he would see them next week.
