Nordi Mukiele sends Instagram message to Sunderland fans after Nottingham Forest incident

Nordi Mukiele addressed Sunderland supporters on Instagram after a half-time flashpoint during the 5-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the Stadium of Light.

The player said in a post that: “A difficult night yesterday, but that’s football, with its ups and downs. Most important is to stand up and go for the next with a different mindset, and we will do it. Four to go, keep believe [SIC]. See y’all next week.”

Sunderland trailed 4-0 at the interval after a punishing first half that effectively settled the contest. As players headed down the tunnel, Mukiele appeared to react to comments from the stands.

Despite the interval boos, many supporters stayed with the team after the restart.

Attention now turns to the run-in, with four matches remaining and a response targeted next week.
