Norway’s Prime Minister has offered another Leeds United link on the eve of tonight’s World Cup quarter-final against England in Miami, a 10pm kick-off. Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions face Norway for a place in the semi-finals.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Erling Haaland’s allegiance to Leeds is well known and the club enjoys significant support in Norway and across Scandinavia, rooted in the Don Revie era.

Jonas Gahr Store is also regarded as a Leeds supporter, a point underlined during a meeting with former Prime Minister Keir Starmer last year. The pair discussed closer cooperation with Norway and work with allies to bolster national and economic security for British people.

Store noted that Britain’s troops are welcome to train in Norway’s winter conditions, then, as Starmer congratulated him, he remarked that Leeds had returned to the Premier League after one season. Starmer responded by repeating his congratulations on promotion.

Store has previously shared his support on Instagram, including a photo of himself standing before five Leeds United flags on a house wall in Norway.
