Norwayâs Erling Braut HĂĽland set a new Fifa U20s World Cup record as his side hammered Honduras 12-0 on Thursday.
HĂĽland â who is the son of former Leeds and Manchester City midfielder Alf-Inge HĂĽland â scored an incredible NINE goals (a hat-trick of hat-tricks) as his side sent hapless Honduras crashing out of the Poland 2019 tournament.
The 18-year-old â who joined Red Bull Salzburg from Molde in January â has set a new record for the most goals scored in an U20 World Cup match, outranking Adailton, who scored six for Brazil in a 10-3 win over Korea Republic in 1997.
His first goal came after seven minutes and he had four to his name by half time. Two red cards for Honduras meant the game descended into farce in the second half, and HĂĽland filled his boots.
The result means Norway should now finish as one of the top four third-placed sides and advanced to the next round of the competition.
