Norwich City boss Philippe Clement says Amankwah Forson and Jakov Medić have returned to team training following their injuries.
In another boost for the Canaries, midfielder Pelle Mattsson is also stepping up his recovery from injury though is not yet ready to return.
“This week, one moment we were training and suddenly I hear all the team shouting ‘Pelle, Pelle, Pelle!’, so it was the first time he came outside to run with one of the physios,” Clement explained.
“So, that’s a positive, but it doesn’t mean he will be training with the group next week. Everybody was really happy that he was back on the grass, which just shows the unity of the group.
“(Amankwah) Forson is back training with the group and so is Jakov (Medić), so we get a little bit of competition with the group, not enough, but slowly players are coming back.
“With Forson, it needs to be the right time and the right minutes, he needs to be strong and robust enough to take those minutes. It’s a work in progress and it will take some time.”
Earlier this week, Norwich confirmed the departure of academy prospect Ajay Tavares who has joined Spanish giants Barcelona.
“You don’t have any means to tie a player down at that age in the UK,” Clement explained on the youngster’s exit.
“He also has a Portuguese passport, so that makes it much easier for foreign teams to bring him in and they can give contracts that we cannot give because he is too young here.
“That’s why it is really difficult to keep players like him here.
“Everybody can be really proud; the academy, Ajay and his family. It’s important work that’s been done here and everybody here at the club wishes him the best.”
