Not Olise: Real Madrid have an eye on Bayern attacker | OneFootball

Real Madrid are keeping an eye on Bayern Munich youngster Lennart Karl.

We have extensively covered Madrid’s interest in Bayern winger Michael Olise, who has been in sparkling form once again.

Los Blancos were prepared to spend big on Olise, but Bayern made it clear that the Frenchman was not for sale.

Lennart Karl: What’s going on?

Karl enjoyed a terrific 2025-26 campaign, registering nine goals and nine assists across all competitions for Bayern.

The 18-year-old picked up an injury shortly before the World Cup, ruling him out of Germany’s squad and denying him the chance to showcase his talent on the biggest stage.

Had Karl been fit and featured for Germany, the conversation around his future could have been very different, particularly given the country’s disappointing campaign.

Karl’s current contract runs until 2029, but Bayern will sooner or later have to address his long-term future and consider whether to offer him improved terms.

He is expected to play an important role in Vincent Kompany’s squad, although opportunities are not easy to come by for any youngster at Bayern, particularly with a wealth of top-class talent in the forward areas.

Christian Falk has exclusively told CFBayern Insider that Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Karl’s situation.

Karl admitted earlier this year that Real Madrid are his dream club, although Bayern quickly played down suggestions that the youngster was considering leaving the German champions.

Falk said: “It is TRUE: A player like Lennart Karl is a name on the table of every top club at the moment.

“It was a pity that he was injured before the World Cup; otherwise, we’d be talking in a different range about the German international!

“Now, he is back available as a rotational option in Vincent Kompany’s squad, scoring against Elversberg in the Bundesliga.

“He’s shown that, yet again, he is a player Bayern can count on. And that’s saying something, because it’s not easy to break into this Bayern team, with top players like Michael Olise playing in the same position.

“Everyone is keeping a close eye on what Karl is doing next. His contract is not incredibly long, expiring in 2029, so Bayern Munich have to make some decisions about a new contract for him.

“This is why other clubs, like Real Madrid, have an eye on him and may be trying to work out whether he’s going to sign a new contract or if there’s an opening to talk with the 18-year-old.

“There is nothing concretely hot at the moment. However, it will be the next topic when Bayern are speaking.

“How high the offer is, we’ll have to see. And, of course, Lennart Karl is free to explore options with other clubs.

“They know what they’d get if they sign such a big young talent.”

Lennart Karl: Crucial season for him

Karl is a huge talent, and Bayern remains an ideal club for him to continue his development and grow into a top-level player.

That being said, he must make the most of every opportunity that comes his way and continue to make an impact, whether from the bench or in the starting XI.

Another strong campaign would put Karl in an even stronger position during contract negotiations, while giving Bayern greater reason to resist any future advances from Real Madrid.
