Lennart Karl and Karim Adeyemi swap Germany squad slots | OneFootball

Jürgen Klopp has made one late change to his first Germany squad, with Karim Adeyemi replacing Bayern Munich youngster Lennart Karl. The DFB confirmed on Monday that the switch was made for reasons of workload management. Karl, who had initially been named in Klopp’s first senior squad, will instead join Germany’s second squad.

Adeyemi consequently moves into the senior group for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands and Greece. The Barcelona winger could feature away in Amsterdam on Thursday before Germany host Greece in Augsburg on Sunday.

Karl, meanwhile, will remain involved at international level. The 18-year-old, who missed the World Cup through injury, is now set to join the second Germany squad for the upcoming fixtures against Serbia and Greece. Germany face Serbia at the Allianz Arena on October 1 before traveling to Thessaloniki to face Greece on October 4.

Karl can thus look forward to a home fixture at the stadium of his Bundesliga club.
