Nottingham Forest’s striker hunt could lead to Napoli forward Lorenzo Lucca, with a loan and €35m purchase option under discussion.

Fabrizio Romano reports Forest have agreed all terms of a loan that carries a €35m option to buy, with a €1m loan fee, and that Forest made the strongest salary proposal.

AreaNapoli claims Lucca has rejected Benfica, Pisa and a move to Saudi Arabia, and is now ready to accept Forest.

Sky Sports Italy says the deal is agreed, but adds Lucca has not yet made a final decision on his future.

Lucca is on loan at Napoli from Udinese, who are also reported to hold an option to buy. He has one goal in 16 Serie A appearances and has started only once since late October, in the Italian Cup.

The 25-year-old came through Torino’s academy, broke through with Palermo in the third tier, then moved to Pisa in Serie B before loans to Ajax and Udinese. Udinese made the move permanent in 2024 and sent him to Napoli in the summer.

Antonio Conte has recently preferred youngsters with only Primavera experience ahead of the five-cap Italy forward. Forest have also been linked with Tammy Abraham, currently on loan at Besiktas from Roma, and Wolves’ Jorgen Stand Larsen.
