Pisa are refusing to give up on a potential return for Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca, despite heavy pressure and a significant financial push from Nottingham Forest.
According to Sky Italia (via AreaNapoli), the Premier League side has already reached a broad agreement with Napoli for the Italian international. The deal on the table is worth a total of €35 million, structured as an initial loan deal.
However, despite the clubs having a financial understanding, the final approval from the player is yet to arrive. This hesitation from Lucca has provided a window of opportunity for Pisa to continue their pursuit. The Tuscan club is pushing for a romantic return for their former star, hoping to convince him to choose guaranteed continuity in a familiar environment over a move to England.
While Nottingham Forest remain the favorites due to their superior financial power and the agreement with Napoli, the lack of a definitive “yes” from the striker means the race remains open for Pisa to pull off an ambitious hijack.
The Italian has already rejected moves abroad and this is also giving Pisa hope about landing the forward.
