Nottingham Forest face renewed uncertainty over head coach Vitor Pereira after Fabrizio Romano said the two parties could not continue together next season. He added there was movement behind the scenes. There is no confirmation at this stage.
The BBC has reported that talks to renew Pereira’s contract were put on hold in June, with both sides said to remain committed and discussions intended to resume once the 2026/27 season is under way.
Forest used four head coaches last season, Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche, then Pereira, who had begun the campaign at Wolves.
Pereira replaced Dyche in February on a deal to June 2027. He steered Forest clear of relegation and into the Europa League semi-finals. His record was eight wins and six defeats in 20 matches.
At Wolves he signed fresh terms in September 2025 after keeping them up, then was dismissed that November following a poor start to 2025/26.
The club has not commented. As things stand Forest visit Notts County at Meadow Lane on Saturday, 18 July, before a training camp in Portugal later in the month.
