Nottingham Forest have just over three weeks to bolster Oliver Glasner’s squad, with Ousmane Diomande set for a medical today, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Crystal Palace are closing on Anan Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise, The Athletic reports. The Israel international has completed his medical and is set for a move worth about £21 million, with a five-year deal and an optional extra year taking it to 2032.

Diomande is closing on a switch to Forest with a €40 million fee reported as agreed, and the Ivory Coast centre-back is thought to have settled on a five-year contract expected to be signed in the coming days. He was an unused substitute in Sporting’s 2-2 draw with Estrela Amadora at the weekend, having moved to Portugal from Midtjylland in 2023 and since won two league titles and one Portuguese Cup, plus the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023.

Forest’s completed business includes Xaver Schlager on a free from RB Leipzig, while Gustavo Sa has joined then been loaned to Olympiacos. Forest were believed to have bid £20 million for Khalaili, with Inter Milan, Bournemouth and Newcastle United also linked.

On the right, Glasner currently has Dan Ndoye and Omari Hutchinson as wing options, with Ola Aina and Nicolo Savona able to play on the right of defence.

Brennan Johnson is on his way to Everton as part of a swap that will see Dwight McNeil head to Palace after a £35 million club-record fee. Johnson left Forest for Tottenham in 2023, moved to Palace in January, and departs with two assists in 26 games. He previously produced 27 goals and 18 assists for Spurs, and made 109 Forest appearances after joining at the age of eight.
