The club said in a statement that defender Morato has joined Championship side West Ham United on a season-long loan, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
The transfer reunites the Brazilian with former Reds head coach Nuno Espirito Santo in the capital. It is Forest’s second first-team departure on deadline day after centre-back Zach Abbott moved to Southampton.
Morato arrived from Benfica in the summer of 2024 and has made 66 appearances for Forest. He has not featured under Oliver Glasner this term.
He was named in the Europa League team of the tournament for 2025/26 and played in all but two matches as Forest reached the last four.
Forest wished the defender well for the year ahead.
