According to Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest are scouring the market for a replacement for Manchester City-bound Elliot Anderson, with Celtic midfielder Arne Engels on their list.

Engels, 22, has admirers at the City Ground and could step into Anderson’s role. The England international is due to complete a £116 million move to City in the coming days.

Forest might not have a clear run, with clubs on the continent also targeting the Belgian.

Engels has been a stand-out in Scotland since joining Celtic from Augsburg two years ago, and he has impressed in Europe.

He scored once and provided three assists in last season’s Europa League, matching those figures across 10 Champions League outings the previous campaign.

Engels has two years left on his contract, and Celtic paid £11m to sign him.
