Nottingham Forest are keeping a close eye on Derby County goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom (27) as the Championship side consider offering the Sweden international a new contract amid rising Premier League interest, according to reports from Sky Sports.

Zetterstrom has attracted attention following an impressive run of form for the Rams, with Forest now joining a list of admirers that included Brentford in the summer. His current deal at Pride Park runs until 2027, but Derby are understood to be weighing up fresh terms to reflect his growing importance and to ward off potential suitors.

The former Djurgardens keeper endured a muted start after arriving in August 2024, but has since become central to John Eustace’s revitalised side. Derby have won six of their last seven league games and sit eighth in the Championship, outside the play-off places only on goal difference.

Zetterstrom’s performances have been instrumental in that surge, earning him a nomination for October’s Championship Player of the Month and a long-awaited competitive debut for Sweden. After earning his first cap in a friendly against Iceland last year, he started in this month’s 1-1 World Cup qualifying draw against Slovenia under new national coach Graham Potter.
