Nottingham Forest earned a valuable point with a 0-0 against title-chasing Arsenal at the City Ground, a spirited response to their FA Cup humbling by Wrexham. According to Nottingham Post, Elliot Anderson topped the player ratings with 9/10.
The pressure had risen after relegation rivals West Ham United beat Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the day to cut the gap to four points. Early positivity from the hosts lifted the noise inside the ground.
Nicolas Dominguez saw an effort deflected behind in the opening 15 minutes and Callum Hudson-Odoi almost latched on to a fine long pass from Murillo. Arsenal dominated the ball but Matz Sels was seldom tested, while Gabriel Martinelli rolled one just wide on the half-hour.
Almost an hour had passed before Sels was called upon, then he produced two strong stops within minutes. He pushed away a Declan Rice strike and then denied a Bukayo Saka header.
There was a late VAR check for a possible handball against Ola Aina, which was waved away, and Forest held on. High marks followed, with Sels, Ibrahim Sangare and Dominguez at 8.5, and Aina, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Neco Williams all on 8. Hudson-Odoi was given 7.5, Morgan Gibbs-White 7, Igor Jesus 6, with Dan Ndoye and Omari Hutchinson both 7 from the bench.
