Nottingham Forest are pushing to sign Newcastle’s Jacob Murphy before Tuesday’s 11pm deadline, according to talkSPORT.

The 31-year-old is in the final year of his contract at St James’ Park and Newcastle could be willing to let him leave.

Right wing-back Daniel Munoz looks set to be the first arrival, reuniting with Oliver Glasner after a £22 million agreement with Crystal Palace.

Glasner has said up to three signings and three departures could be on the cards as the summer window closes.

Separately, Football Italia claims Forest are expected to return with another offer for Fiorentina right-back Dodo after earlier talks in Italy were said to be close, with financial details still to finalise.

The Serie A club were reported to value the Brazilian at €12 million, with Forest said to prefer around €10m, figures that surfaced before the Munoz move.

The same report says Dodo has turned down approaches from Forest and fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned Olympiacos, and that he is uninterested in leaving, though a second bid from Forest is reportedly anticipated.
