According to a report from Foot Mercato, Nottingham Forest have returned to AS Monaco with an improved offer for Soungoutou Magassa (21), with their previous offer of €12m rejected.

The French outlet writes that Forest have tabled a fixed fee of €17m. Their new bid comes after fellow Premier League outfit West Ham United reportedly submitted a €19m package to the Principality club (€16m fixed fee with €3m in bonuses). Forest’s bid has not been rejected by Monaco despite it falling just short of the fee they reportedly were holding out for (€18m).

These two sides are not the only ones in the market for the versatile midfielder, who featured 31 times for Adi Hütter’s side last season. Last week, AS Roma were said to be looking at the midfielder and were set to enter the fray. However, it now appears as if Magassa’s future lies in England.
