Nottingham Forest will head to Portugal next month for a 12-day training camp under Vitor Pereira, with three friendlies scheduled as preparations for 2026/27 gather pace.

According to Nottingham Post, the Reds face Blackburn Rovers at the Estadio de Nora on July 22, then a behind-closed-doors game with Vitoria de Guimaraes on July 26, before meeting Sporting Lisbon on July 31.

Ticketing and streaming details for those fixtures will follow once finalised, and further pre-season matches are planned. The trip is intended to build cohesion and togetherness before a fifth straight Premier League season.

Forest survived relegation last term after a strong turnaround under Pereira, and they want to push higher up the table in 2026/27. Their dream is a swift return to European competition after last season’s Europa League semi-final run.

The league campaign begins against Leeds United at the City Ground on August 22, followed by a first away test at Liverpool on August 29.

A summer reshuffle could leave the squad looking different, although Pereira does not feel a major overhaul is needed. Willy Boly and goalkeepers Angus Gun and Stefan Ortega will leave as free agents at the end of this month, while loan striker Lorenzo Lucca has returned to Napoli. Elliot Anderson has drawn two bids from Manchester City, and there is a growing sense he will head to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
