Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion defender Grace McEwen on a season-long loan deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Tricky Trees just a short time ago.

The 18-year-old started out in the Charlton Athletic academy before being snapped up by Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023. McEwan furthered her development with The Seagulls’ Under-19 side where she won the Nike Cup. She made her senior debut for Brighton & Hove Albion in November 2023. The youngster spent time on loan at Portsmouth during the 2024/2025 season before sustaining a long-term injury.

After joining Nottingham Forest on loan, McEwan said “This is an amazing opportunity for me. I’ve met the girls; they’re a great group and I know they’re going to push me.

“I’ve spoken to Tom [Mallinson] and Amber [Wildgust] about where they want to go and it’s exciting, there is a lot of ambition and the club is growing.

“I am a composed player; I like to dribble and play passes to break lines and I’m a technical player. I can’t wait to play here and show the fans what I can do.”

McEwan is Nottingham Forest’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
