Negotiations between Nottingham Forest and Sporting Lisbon for Ivory Coast defender Ousmane Diomande are said to have collapsed, with Maisfutebol reporting that a major disagreement caused talks to fall through.
Forest have made only one signing so far this summer, midfielder Xaver Schlager on a free after leaving RB Leipzig. The Austrian has reunited with new head coach Oliver Glasner, the pair previously worked together at Wolfsburg.
The club are seeking four further additions for the upcoming season, a midfielder, a centre-back, a right-back and a striker.
Speaking last week, Glasner said he was not anxious about new arrivals before the Premier League kick-off, and noted that any deal needs agreement from both clubs, the player and the agent.
He added that Forest have already set the profiles and targets they want, expressed confidence in the board to secure the right players, and accepted there is still work to do to finalise deals.
