Nottingham Forest target Liverpool’s Giorgi Mamardashvili as new No.1 amid late-window reshuffle | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have enquired about the possibility of signing Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Oliver Glasner wants to add a new first-choice goalkeeper to his squad before the deadline, and Forest have had an offer turned down for former loanee Dean Henderson of Crystal Palace.

According to journalistMatteo Moretto, Forest have contacted Liverpool to discuss Mamardashvili's availability. The Georgia international joined Liverpool from Valencia for an initial fee of £25m last summer and made 10 Premier League appearances last season.

The 25-year-old is understood to feel frustrated about his role heading into the current campaign, with Alisson Becker remaining at Anfield as number one goalkeeper, despite speculation over a potential move to Juventus.

Liverpool also have issues around registration rules. Clubs can register a maximum of 17 players not classed as a 'homegrown player', with the Reds reaching that limit afterthe arrival of Ronald Araujo from Barcelona.

Liverpool have agreed terms with PSG to sign Bradley Barcola, who would need to be registered. Mamardashvili is an option to leave, though other exits are expected, with Cody Gakpo edging towards a transfer to Manchester City.

Forest are exploring whether a deal can be done for Mamardashvili in what is expected to be a busy conclusion to the transfer window for the club.

Glasner's side have agreed a £22m fee with Crystal Palace for Colombian wing-back Daniel Munoz, and are also interested in signing a central midfielder.

Forest had held talks with Everton over a £40m deal for Harrison Armstrong but have seen the Blues block the transfer, amid an angry backlash from supporters.
