Sean Dyche has confirmed his Nottingham Forest line-up for this afternoon’s Premier League meeting with Aston Villa.

Forest are targeting an end to a three-match losing run after a 2-0 defeat to Everton, and they remain 17th with rivals close behind. West Ham United drew with Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday to trim the gap to four points. According to Nottingham Post, this already feels a key test for the Reds.

Dyche makes two changes from midweek, with Ola Aina and Dilane Bakwa replacing Oleksandr Zinchenko and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Aina’s return from injury is a major lift for the visitors.

John starts behind Aina, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Neco Williams. Elliot Anderson and Nicolas Dominguez are in midfield, with Omari Hutchinson, Morgan Gibbs-White and Bakwa supporting Igor Jesus.

Hudson-Odoi misses out entirely. The bench is Matz Sels, Morato, Taiwo Awoniyi, Douglas Luiz, Arnaud Kalimuendo, James McAtee, Zinchenko, Nicolo Savona and Zach Abbott.

Dyche will likely remind his side they have generally competed well against leading clubs under his stewardship. Villa, flying near the top end, provide a demanding start to the new year.
