Nottingham Forest ‘to continue’ Andre talks as Corinthians chief outlines January stance | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest remain in discussions over Corinthians midfielder Andre, with a view to January, RTI Esporte claims. Talks are said to be ongoing.

Forest had a £10 million offer rejected last month and Corinthians said they received no reply after a counterproposal. Earlier suggestions were that the 20-year-old could move after the Brazilian season, with a preference for Europe.

Andre is valued at £15m with a further £6m in add-ons, and Forest are trying to lower the fee and reshape any bonuses, the report said.

Corinthians executive Marcelo Paz said: "The idea is that he (Andre) can be negotiated, but only delivered at the end of the year. The English transfer window is closed. However, negotiations were conducted independently of the window, meaning with the possibility of Andre leaving in January." He told CNN.

"So, this negotiation can still happen and would be a relief for the club's finances, an important resource. If the sale goes through, there's a sporting loss, but there's a significant financial gain for the club."

Forest have already added Xaver Schlager after Elliot Anderson joined Manchester City. Another midfielder remained on their list late in the window, with Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Bergvall and Everton’s Harrison Armstrong among those considered.
