Novorizontino thrash Goiás 3-0 in Brasileirão Série B | OneFootball

Grêmio Novorizontino gave Goiás no room at Jorjão. With a dominant performance, Tigre won 3-0 this Friday, the 1st, in the 31st round of the Série B of the Brazilian Championship, and controlled the match for virtually the entire game.

The São Paulo side created more chances, applied pressure from the start, and built the scoreline with authority. In the 12th minute, Robson forced Tadeu into a great save. Shortly after, Matheus Bianqui also threatened, confirming Novorizontino’s strong start.

The persistence paid off in the 20th minute. After a move down the right flank, Rômulo appeared in the box and headed home to open the scoring. The goal did not change Tigre’s approach, as the team kept pushing forward and created other chances before halftime.

Goiás misses the chance to get back into the game

Goiás managed to breathe in the closing minutes of the first half and found an opportunity to equalize. The team was awarded a penalty, but missed the spot kick and let its best chance to restore balance to the match slip away.

The mistake proved costly in the second half. Novorizontino regained control of the game, kept Goiás away from the area, and applied pressure again. With more space to attack, the São Paulo side kept creating chances.

Robson doubles the lead

In the 16th minute, Tigre found the net again. Robson was there to finish off a corner-kick play and made it 2-0. The larger advantage increased the home side’s dominance and forced Goiás to leave itself even more exposed.

Even with the result all but secured, Novorizontino kept creating. Tadeu denied at least one more clear chance and played an important role in preventing the gap from growing before the final minutes.

Juninho seals the rout

In the 90th minute, Juninho scored the third and confirmed the 3-0 win at Jorjão. The result crowned a dominant display by Novorizontino. Tigre imposed its rhythm, controlled midfield, and created the main chances.

Goiás struggled to respond and also wasted the chance to equalize when the score was 1-0. In the closing stretch of Série B, Tigre leaves Jorjão with an emphatic victory. Tigre also stood out for the attacking volume it showed against Goiás.
