Nuno Espirito Santo has reflected on Nottingham Forest’s latest upheaval, sympathising with Sean Dyche and calling the situation a question mark as Vitor Pereira is in line to take charge, while stressing his focus is on West Ham.

According to Nottingham Post, after guiding Forest to seventh last season, Nuno was dismissed three games into this campaign following a behind-the-scenes fallout with global head of football Edu. He was replaced by Ange Postecoglou, whose 39-day tenure preceded Dyche’s appointment. Dyche lasted 114 days, departing after a 0-0 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.

Asked about the sackings of Dyche and Thomas Frank by Tottenham Hotspur, Nuno said managerial churn is part of the profession and said he was sure his colleagues would be back soon.

He added he has moved on personally and that his focus is West Ham. The Reds hold a three-point cushion over his 18th-placed Hammers, who have been in good form and are aiming to close the gap.

With ex-Wolves boss Vitor Pereira in line for the City Ground job, Nuno accepted the impact on the relegation fight is uncertain, describing it as a question mark. He said West Ham will concentrate on improving and competing, with attention now on the FA Cup and a day-by-day approach.
