West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that he has his full squad available as the Hammers continue their battle for Premier League survival.
West Ham sit perilously close to the relegation zone, just two points above Tottenham with four games remaining. They will travel to Brentford this Saturday and Nuno expects to have his full squad at his disposal.
“Small knocks,” admitted the Portuguese coach. “But it seems like everybody is okay.”
The Hammers would have slipped into the bottom three last weekend, if not for a Callum Wilson injury-time winner against Everton.
“It was a big boost for us,” said Nuno. “We are so happy and, like you said, it increases the level of confidence.
“But at the same time it’s going to be a new game against Brentford, a tough team. But it was a big boost for us.
“We have to perform well. First of all we have to prepare ourselves well and the boys are doing it. And then compete against a tough team.
“That’s the priority trying to maintain our level of performance.
“All the games in the Premier League are intense, no matter what you are fighting for. It’s the responsibility of being in the best league in the world. So it’s going to be tough.”
Following their recent upturn in form, Nuno has been nominated for Premier League manager of the month. The coach guided his side to an unbeaten April.
“This is a club nomination,” said the West Ham boss. “I think it says something to everybody, not only ourselves here at Rush Green but our fans also. One of the things we should be proud of us is we are improving our connection, our relationship.
“It’s not a nomination for myself, there’s a lot of people involved. I think it’s a club nomination because it’s up to us, everybody can help.
“So being nominated is a reflection of the hard work the boys have been putting in on the grass in the recent games. Our character and the way we are competing shows and says a lot about ourselves.
“The results have helped a lot in terms of atmosphere and no matter what, we have to stick together. We have been through tough moments and the smiles were not there but the respect was present every day.”
