Nuno Espirito Santo says West Ham are still checking on Crysencio Summerville ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Leeds United at the London Stadium. The manager delivered team news at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

He described the squad as under review after the international break, noting mixed returns and some issues among those who travelled. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Hammers had 10 players away with their countries.

Summerville has been out since a calf problem sustained in last month’s fifth round tie at Brentford, missing the last two matches and March duty with the Netherlands. Earlier reports suggested he could be back after the break, yet Espirito Santo stressed his recovery is being monitored day by day. Any decision for Sunday will depend on how he feels.

Among those returning, Konstantinos Mavropanos suffered a head injury in a 1-0 defeat against Paraguay last Friday, coming off with seven minutes remaining. He was then absent for Tuesday’s game against Hungary in Budapest.

Doubts also remain over centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, who picked up a calf injury in the warm up before the Aston Villa match prior to the break and did not feature. Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has not played since an under-21 outing in September because of a back problem.
