A reunion between Nuno Espirito Santo and Ruben Neves has been floated, with a Premier League return for the midfielder mooted for January.
TeamTalk claims Neves will not sign a new deal at Al-Hilal, and that Nuno has asked West Ham’s owners to try to persuade him to join. The report adds that, with several other clubs interested and West Ham’s current position, a move is unlikely.
Nuno revived Wolves after arriving in May 2017, overseeing 199 matches at 1.68 points per game. His time brought promotion from the Championship, a Europa League quarter-final run and an FA Cup semi-final.
Neves, the former captain, made 253 appearances before joining Al-Hilal for £47 million. Rumours of a Premier League return have persisted, with talk intensifying ahead of January.
West Ham sit two places above Wolves, and with European clubs also chasing him, a Molineux comeback appears remote. Supporters were weighing up a return only eight months ago. His long-range threat and creativity could have addressed a gap in this Wolves side, but he may now be seen in different colours.
