Il Messaggero reports that Nuno Tavares has rejected all offers and will extend his stay at Lazio, dealing Arsenal a financial blow.

The 26-year-old joined in summer 2024. A strong start gave way to injury problems in the second half of 2024/25. He initially struggled with Maurizio Sarri’s defensively demanding approach, then improved and kept his place.

The full-back had been linked with Porto, where head coach Francesco Farioli was pushing for a return to Portugal. Besiktas held long-standing interest and Fiorentina were also mentioned, with Lazio valuing him at €20 million.

Any sale could have earned Arsenal around seven million euros via a 35% sell-on clause. His decision to stay removes that potential income.

Tavares now faces competition from Alfonso Pedraza, who arrived on a free from Villarreal last week. With him staying, Lazio will instead focus on selling Luca Pellegrini, who has one year left and should have a modest asking price, amid reported Premier League interest from Ipswich Town and Hull City.
