Nusa tees up Haaland in Norway win | OneFootball

Ten RBL players are away on international duty during the first international break of the season.

The group includes Nicolas Seiwald (Austria), Ezechiel Banzuzi (DR Congo), Willi Orbán (Hungary), Neil El Aynaoui (Morocco), Antonio Nusa and Ørjan Nyland (both Norway), as well as Maarten Vandevoordt (Belgium). Tidiam Gomis is away with France U21s for the first time.

David Raum and Ridle Baku are also on international duty with Germany.

Antonio Nusa and Ørjan Nyland (Norway)

Both Antonio Nusa and Ørjan Nyland started as Norway got their UEFA Nations League campaign underway against Denmark. 

Our shot-stopper prevented them from falling behind early on, making a strong save in the eighth minute. Oscar Bobb then opened the scoring for the hosts in the 14th minute, before Nusa provided the assist for Erling Haaland to make it 2-0 (18'). 

Denmark were able to net twice to draw level at 2-2, before Haaland finished off a short corner from Nusa to score the match-winner in the 74th minute. 

Next up for Norway is a clash with Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo on Sunday (20:45 CEST).

David Raum & Ridle Baku (Germany)

Raumi and Ridle are part of new Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp’s squad. There’s disappointment for Brajan, however: our attacker will miss the upcoming Nations League fixtures with an abdominal muscle strain and will not join up with the Germany squad.

Germany will use two different squads across the four fixtures. The two RBL stars will therefore link up with the national team on Sunday, 27th September, after watching the game against Greece in Augsburg from the stands. They will then begin training on Monday.

Two matches then await. Germany first host Serbia in Munich, before travelling to Thessaloniki to face Greece three days later.

Nicolas Seiwald (Austria)

Nici Seiwald was included in the starting line-up for Austria's opening game of the Nations League against Israel. After striker Michael Gregoritsch had to be subbed off in the 36th minute with an injury, our midfielder donned the captain's armband in his stead.

Nici was then taken off in the 73rd minute, with the scores tied at 1-1. Philipp Mwene and Saša Kalajdžić struck for the hosts in injury time to secure a 3-1 win. Their next match will now be against Kosovo on Sunday (18:00 CEST). 

Ezechiel Banzuzi (DR Congo)

After representing the Netherlands at youth level, Ezechiel Banzuzi has since declared for DR Congo. He has been called up to the senior squad for the first time by head coach Sébastien Desabre. DR Congo enjoyed a strong run at the World Cup, being eliminated after a narrow defeat to England in the round of 32 (2-1). 

'Banzu' was an unused substitute in the 2-0 win against Equatorial Guinea. He will be hoping to see some minutes on Monday, when DR Congo take on Zimbabwe in another AFCON qualifier (18:00 CEST).  

Maarten Vandevoordt (Belgium)

Maarten Vandevoordt missed out on a place in Belgium’s World Cup squad, but the 24-year-old has put that disappointment behind him and started the new season with renewed determination. He is now RBL’s number one and will be looking to fight for his place under new Belgium head coach Mark van Bommel.

Belgium face a tough schedule from the off after being drawn in a difficult Nations League group alongside France, Italy and Turkey.

Neil El Aynaoui (Morocco)

Neil El Aynaoui has been named in Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi’s 29-man squad for the upcoming international break.

The Atlas Lions begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign at home to Gabon in Rabat. Four days later, they travel to Bloemfontein to face Lesotho, before rounding off the international window with a friendly against Ghana in Tangier.

Willi Orbán (Hungary)

Willi Orbán remains a key figure at the heart of the RB Leipzig defence and continues to also be an important player for Hungary. Head coach Marco Rossi has included the defender in his squad for the upcoming Nations League matches. 

After failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA, Hungary are now seeking to get back to winning ways in the Nations League. Orbán, who turns 34 in November, is eyeing up a successful qualification to the 2028 European Championships with his country.

Tidiam Gomis  (France U21)

Tidiam Gomis has received his first call-up to the France U21s. The attacker has been in strong form so far this season, scoring once and contributing two assists across the first three Bundesliga games of the season.

Together with the 'Bleuets,' he is now set for four tough matches as part of qualifying for the U21 EUROs in Albania and Serbia next year. France are currently top of their group with 16 points.
