England Under-21 boss Lee Carsley praised Ethan Nwaneri’s decision to go out on loan to a different country.
Nwaneri joined Marseille on loan in January from Arsenal and has since scored twice for the French club, including in their last league game against Lille.
“It’s a brilliant decision,” Carsley responded when asked by Hayters.com about Nwaneri’s decision to head out on loan. “We’ve seen it in the past with different players that we’ve had playing abroad.
“Germany and France now seem to be a really good learning environment for these players.
“I’m thinking of some of the players in the past that straight away that come to my mind, that thrived in those environments. The more experiences we can give our players, potentially, the more it’s going to help the senior team.”

The 19-year-old is in line to play for England U21s again when they take on Moldova in Norwich on Tuesday and Carsley also stressed the need for patience with the youngster’s development.
“I think, first and foremost, you’ve got to remember his age,” he said.
“And then add on to that, that he’s gone to a different country, different language, first time he’s lived away from home and then the last bit is the football.
“So, we have to be really patient with these lads. It’s not easy to, you know, I moved from Derby to Blackburn, which is 30 miles, 40 miles, whatever it is and it was difficult, and I was 25.
“So, we have to be a bit patient with these players, especially when they go abroad. Ethan has been outstanding in training, on and off the pitch. I expect a really good performance from him.”
