Rio Ferdinand hailed Harry Kane as England’s only world-class player after the 4-2 win over Croatia that opened their 2026 World Cup campaign.

According to BuLi News, the former Manchester United and England defender singled out the Bayern Munich striker for an outstanding display.

Ferdinand said others in the squad are close to that bracket, but that Kane is the one who sits comfortably among the elite for England.

Kane has 115 caps for England, the third most behind Wayne Rooney on 120 and Peter Shilton on 125.

He is the country’s all-time leading scorer with 81 goals.

England face Ghana on June 23 as they look to build on that strong start.
