Milan close their dealings in the summer transfer mercato the same way they started it – by signing a striker.

Interest had existed for a while for Tammy Abraham but in the last few days momentum gained and a swap deal with Roma involving Alexis Saelemaekers took shape and so Tammy joins the Diavolo on a one-year loan deal, in exchange for Alexis and an additional €1.5m.

“Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Tammy Abraham from AS Roma on a loan deal. The striker has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2025.

“Born in London on 2 October 1997, Tammy progressed through Chelsea’s youth ranks before making his professional debut with the same club in 2016. Moves to Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa followed. After returning to Chelsea in 2019, he went on to win the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup with the Blues. In 2021, he joined Roma, with whom he won the first edition of the UEFA Conference League.

“At international level, he made his England debut on 10 November 2017. He has scored three goals in eleven appearances for his country.

“Tammy Abraham will wear the number 90 shirt at Milan.” Paulo Fonseca gets another option for the center striker role, while Fikayo Tomori regains a long-time friend who once again becomes a teammate.
