Following the loan exit of Aron Yaakobishvili earlier today, FC Barcelona have now announced the departure of another young talent from the club – Eman Kospo.
The young centre-back, who won the treble with the club’s Juvenil A setup last season, has signed for Fiorentina.
“FC Barcelona and ACF Fiorentina have reached an agreement for the transfer of Eman Kospo. The club reserves a percentage of any future sale of the Swiss centre-back,” the club statement read.
“The Club wishes him much luck and success in the future, both personally and professionally.”
Kospo joined the Barcelona academy in the summer of 2023 from GC Zurich and was inserted into the Juvenil A setup directly.
As mentioned earlier, he was a key player for the team last season as they won the treble in the youth categories (Division de Honor, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Youth League) under Juliano Belletti.
The Swiss defender featured in 25 league matches, scoring three goals, while he also played in nine matches in the UEFA Youth League and five more in the Copa del Rey.
Barcelona will earn a small fee for Kospo, said to be around €500,000, while they retain a percentage of any future sale.
Touted as one of the most talented young defenders coming through at La Masia, letting him go seems a strange move by the Blaugrana.
