Official: Barcelona star takes Ferran Torres’ jersey number | OneFootball

Ferran Torres’ vacated Barcelona jersey number has on Monday been filled by a current member of Hansi Flick’s midfield ranks. The Blaugrana star in question? Fermín López.

Frontman Ferran is of course fresh off bringing a permanent close to his stint in the colours of Barcelona. After being heavily courted by Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain, the Spanish World Cup hero made the call to test his talents in Ligue 1.

In the process, Ferran left behind the iconic no.7 shirt in Catalunya’s capital, previously donned by the likes of Luís Figo and David Villa.

And as alluded to above, early this week, the identity of the latest Blaugrana star honoured with the number has been revealed.

As confirmed on the club’s official website, with the Camp Nou brass yet to source a replacement for Ferran on the transfer market, the shirt has gone the way of one of Hansi Flick’s standout performers.
