FC Barcelona are set to kick off their game against Girona soon. For La Blaugrana, this is their first game following the international break and a big chance for the Catalan giants to bounce back after the loss to Sevilla.
However, considering the injuries that Flick has to deal with, it is hardly surprising to see that a rotated starting eleven is what he has gone with. Here is Barça’s official lineup for the clash against Girona at the Montjuic Stadium.
In goal, as expected, Wojciech Szczesny starts in between the sticks. Both Joan Garcia and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen are currently sidelined, so the Polish goalkeeper becomes the automatic pick.
Ahead of him, Pau Cubarsi and Eric Garcia start as the team’s two centre-backs. They will need to be extremely cautious with the team’s high-line and make sure that they make the right decisions.
On the flanks, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde start as the two full-backs. Both of them will need to be alert of their positioning and when to help out the defense and when to help out in attack.

Over in the midfield, Marc Casado and Frenkie de Jong start as the two deep midfielders. They will need to create chances for their teammates while also acting as the backbone of the team.
Up ahead, Lamine Yamal and Toni Fernandez occupy the wide attacking positions for Barcelona while Pedri operates as the central attacking midfielder right behind the striker up top.
Lastly, Marcus Rashford starts as the team’s centre-forward and he will be a crucial player in this game. Beyond just finishing the chances that come his way, he will need to ensure that he can maintain an intense level of pressure the entire game.
