Carlos Soler (27) has completed a move from Paris Saint-Germain to West Ham United. The Spain international joins the Hammers on a season-long loan.
Soler joined PSG two years ago, however, amid intense competition for a place in ththe team, he found game time limited over the course of both campaigns. Whilst Manuel Ugarte also left Les Parisiens this summer, the arrivals of Désiré Doué and João Neves, as well as the emergence of a new generation of academy products, such as Senny Mayulu, meant that Soler was pushed further down the pecking order.
With little prospect of regular game time, PSG were looking to offload the Spaniard, who got his move in the dying moments of the transfer window. He joins West Ham on a season-long loan. L’Équipe understands that, despite earlier reports to the contrary, there is no option to make the loan deal permanent come the end of the campaign.
