David Guion has been appointed the manager of Ligue 2 club Clermont Foot, it was confirmed on Wednesday.

It is all change at Clermont Foot. It was announced on Sunday that a deal had been struck between the current owners, Coresports Alliance, and prospective buyers, ABL Finance. The takeover will see Stéphane Tissier take over Les Auvergnats. His arrival saw Laurent Batlles touted as the club’s new manager. 

A two-year deal for Guion

However, as the club approaches the dawn of a new era, it is now Battles, with whom Tissier worked at AS Saint-Étienne, who will take the reins, but rather former Girondins de Bordeaux manager Guion. His last role was at ESTAC Troyes. He has signed a two-year deal at Clermont Foot. 

The appointment comes just before the Ligue 2 club’s return to pre-season training. There will be medical tests this week before a return to training on 29th June.
