Official: Debutant included as Real Madrid name XI to face Alavés | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Sunday unveiled the club’s starting XI to face Deportivo Alavés.

And it features several altogether noteworthy inclusions.

The headline name in Los Blancos’ line-up comes in the form of Kylian Mbappé, restored to starting duties after missing out against Manchester City in midweek owing to injury.

Even more head-turning, though, is the place afforded to youngster Víctor Valdepeñas.

Amid the ongoing injury crisis in Xabi Alonso’s squad, academy talent Valdepeñas has been handed his La Liga debut, on the left-hand side of defence.

Elsewhere, continuing at right-back amid the respective absences of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dani Carvajal is Federico Valverde.

Arda Güler also steps back into the middle of the park, whilst Rodrygo is rewarded for his starring performance against Man City on Wednesday with a spot on the right wing.
