Villarreal have announced the signing of Denis Suárez on a three-year deal.

The player from Pontevedra joins on a free transfer and will arrive in Vila-real on 6 July to undergo his medical and will train with his new club from 8 July.

Who is Suárez?

Suárez is a technical midfielder with good vision, and he can operate in multiple midfield roles.

It will be his second spell at Villarreal as he was part of the squad in the 2015-16 season when he joined on loan from Sevilla.

During that season, he played a total of 48 matches, scoring five goals and registering 13 assists, while acting as a key man in a team that reached the Europa League semi-finals.

Suárez, 29, has also played for Manchester City, Barcelona, Sevilla, Arsenal, Celta Vigo, and Espanyol.

Santi Comesaña and Ben Brereton Díaz are expected to soon sign for the Yellow Submarine.
