Stade Rennais have confirmed that Djaoui Cissé (21) has signed a contract extension that will tie him to the club until 2030.

Cissé’s current deal had been set to expire in 2029. That renewal only came as recently as April. The midfielder featured prominently at Rennes at the end of last season. His breakthrough came under Habib Beye, who opted to start the France youth international in all but one of Les Rennais’ 15 games of the season. The only game that he missed was against Paris Saint-Germain, and it was only due to a suspension.

This season, the France U21 international has featured less prominently, starting just once for Rennes. He is now contending with more competition, especially due to the arrival of Valentin Rongier. However, he has nonetheless taken part in four out of their five games in Ligue 1 this season.

He has now earned another renewal, which sees his old deal extended by a further year.
