Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe has signed for Libyan side Al-Shomooa on a loan deal from Libyan giants Al-Ittihad.

The player put pen to paper on a contract that's set to run until August 2027, with an option to make the deal permanent.

Foot Africa previously reported that the Botswana national team captain is surplus to requirements at the mega-rich Ittihad.

Ditlhokwe joined Ittihad in a high-profile move from Chiefs in February 2025, with the deal reported to be worth in the region of R15 million.

The 27-year-old made 20 appearances across all competitions for the club, chipping in with two goals in the process.

Interestingly, Dithlokwe could make his debut against his parent club in the Libyan Cup on Sunday, 15 February.
